About The Event

Portfolio Building Workshop

Join us for an immersive Portfolio Building Workshop at the Portchester Community Centre, where we’ll delve into the art of studio photography. With ample space accommodating up to 8 attendees (potentially more), this 2-hour session promises to elevate your skills to new heights.

What You'll Learn:

  • Studio Lighting Techniques: Discover how to master lighting a model in a controlled studio environment.
  • Posing Techniques: Enhance your ability to direct and pose models effectively.
  • Headshot Lighting: In the second half, we’ll focus on specialized lighting techniques for stunning headshots.

Our model for the day is Tori, a familiar face with whom I’ve previously collaborated. Throughout the workshop, we’ll explore creative lighting solutions, including the use of reflectors. I will provide Godox equipment and LED strips to maximize our time together.

Workshop Highlights:

  • Hands-On Tuition: Receive personalized instruction and guidance, both one-on-one and in a group setting. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced photographer, there will be valuable takeaways for everyone.
  • Model Releases: Included for each attendee at no additional cost.
  • Comprehensive Learning: From shooting in manual mode to achieving the perfect exposure and composition, gain a full understanding of the techniques used and how to replicate them in future shoots.

What to Bring:

  • Essential Gear: Your camera and lenses (no specific brand required, but a portrait lens in the 50mm to 200mm range is beneficial). A trigger for Godox lighting is needed—Sony triggers are available, but please bring your own if you use a different brand.
  • Non-Essential Gear: Reflectors are optional, as I will have a few on hand.
  • Preparation: Ensure your gear is fully charged and memory cards are cleared, with at least 16GB of space available. Shooting in RAW is recommended, so ample memory is crucial.

Additional Information:

  • Parking: Free on-site.
  • Accommodation: For those needing a place to stay, visit this page for local hotel and Airbnb options.

Spaces are limited, and this workshop is expected to fill up quickly. Don’t miss out—reserve your spot today!
