About The Event

LIGHT TRAILS

Light trials is an imaging technique that uses a moving light source, like cars or ferries in a night scene. While taking a long-exposure photograph, a scene or object can be brought to life by leaving a beam of light (or lots)!

This is NOT a Beginner Photography Workshop. It is understood that you know how to use your camera as I will not have time to teach this on the workshop. I have other workshops on Beginner Photography and Long Exposure Photography.

What's included;

  • An introduction to Light Trails and the principles of how to set your camera up.
  • Tuition and guidance provided throughout the event, on both a one to one and group basis, to maximise your potential.
  • You leave with full understanding of the settings used and have the ability to replicate the same elsewhere.

Essential Gear;

  • Camera and lenses - doesn't matter what you have. I can work with most camera manufacturers (I use Canon and Sony - So I will know more about them). If you have a wide angle lens, that would be beneficial.
  • Tripod - Definitely essential.
  • Off-Camera Shutter Release - this is essential as we will be taking exposure of up to 1 minute, or 90 seconds. Please learn how to use it before the workshop. as I may not have time to teach this on the night.
  • Food or means to buy food (This is not supplied on the Workshop) - snacks and water.

Non-Essential Gear;

Worth bringing a torch for the times you need to change setting etc.

Parking is free along the roadside, but be careful to park in a safe location as cars do come down the hill at speed - We will meet on the bridge at https://what3words.com/winemaker.absent.tiny

COVID-19 and How it affects you

Workshops and Photo Walks will have extra conditions for attendees to adhere to. Namely;

  1. Up to 6 people - this means, me plus 5 attendees, MAX.
  2. Social distancing - 2 Metres people.
  3. Hand wipes - I'll be handing out hand wipes for you to use before and after the event.
  4. If you want to wear your own face covering, you can bring it, but this is not compulsory.

Movements from one location to another will need to follow strict social distancing rules. Andy Hornby reserves the right to refuse attendance to anyone that shows signs of COVID symptoms, or does not adhere to the rules above (the attendee will waiver the right to a refund in these circumstances).

If an attendee does not attend the event, because of the onset of COVID - a full refund will be given, if a valid test result slip can be produced.
