BEGINNER LEVEL 1 is perfect for the absolute beginner - With the option to upgrade to the level 2 course at a discount, so you can take it even further. Check the options to decide.

My advice would be to go for both. You get lifetime online access to the course material and can dip in and out as many times as you like. You also get downloadable cheat sheets to take with you on your photography trips. These are what we will work through, on the workshop.

This course includes a 2 hour practical session, anywhere within 20 miles of Portsmouth UK (One session per course ie 2x 2 hour sessions if you go for both level 1 & 2). And I would suggest at least 2 months between sessions.

This day is designed for the new photographer or anyone that needs to be brought up to date with digital photography. During the day the trainer will cover a broad range of topics related to basic digital photography, encouraging you to get the best from your camera and take your first steps in moving away from Auto.

What happens on ththis course?

With a variety of theory (online) and practical, these topics are delivered in a fun, enthusiastic and jargon-free style. By the end of the course you will feel confident controlling your camera and have improved your photographic knowledge, skills and techniques.

Who will your trainer?

The training will be led by Andy Hornby. As a highly experienced, published photographer, he has a broad knowledge of all cameras to ensure you get the best from the day.

Not so essential gear;

  • Tripod - Definitely essential. most landscape images will require long exposure, You'll need something to stand it on to leave running.
  • Off camera shutter release - this is beneficial (essential if you have to go over 30 sec exposure) as it is getting dark, you will need to up your shutter time.
